Overview

Technical Leadership Position in a 5-building manufacturing campus in Southwest Iowa. 

In this position, the successful candidate will:

  • Be a key communication link between Engineering/Production/Purchasing/Suppliers and other functional groups within the corporation.
  • Need to work within a team environment to ensure that Bunn products meet established quality levels though the use of proven Quality Assurance and Quality Control methodologies.
  • Continuously drive advancement in the areas of Product Integrity, Critical Feature Management, and Process Improvement.

Responsibilities

    • Maintain a technical understanding of all products, processes, and agency requirements.
    • Drive the Quality Value Chain - Voice of the Customer - Technical Requirements - Critical Feature Identification - Critical Feature Capability - Long Term Critical Feature Compliance.
    • Work with other functional groups to provide technical support for advancing product, process quality, and problem solving.
    • Maintain a high level of initiative and positive attitude.
    • Develop and Manage Quality Control Plans to achieve acceptable quality levels.
    • Support Quality Auditors with project management and coordination.
    • Perform Supplier Quality Audits at both domestic and international suppliers.
    • Manage the non-conforming material process and verify effective corrective actions.
    • Participate in the review of Warranty Returns to determine failure modes and develop corrective actions.
    • Develop and maintain QA documents to support Bunn ISO-9001 standards.
    • Design and implement process controls to reduce variation and eliminate defects.
    • Assist in ISO-9001 Quality System program as Lead Auditor.
    • Travel as required – less than 10%

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline of engineering, or a related field; ASQ certification is preferred; minimum of five years’ experience in manufacturing/quality assurance environment; Proven root cause analysis and problem resolution skills utilizing Six Sigma methodologies; Experience using statistical tools for process improvement  (SPC, Gage R&R, PFMEA, PPAP, DOE); Firm understanding of Probability and Statistics; Excellent organizational and communicational skills; Proficient with analytical software tools (Minitab & Excel); Experience with ISO-9001; Highly motivated and able to work independently or lead a cross functional team.
